Social media scheduling for podcasters

seenpaid schedules the posts around each podcast episode: the release announcement, a guest quote, a listener question, a reminder. They go to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, Discord and Telegram. It does not publish to YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts; it handles the social posts that send people there.

Which platforms matter

Our pick of networks for podcasters, and how often to post on each.

Guests and listeners share episodes here, and a strong quote travels on its own.

How often: Release day plus a few quote posts across the week, spaced out. Source: X’s open-sourced ranker: each post after an author’s first in a feed is scored down

Bring your own X API key. X bills you for API posting; seenpaid does not resell it.

Interview and business shows: a guest’s best line with the episode link reaches their professional circle.

How often: Release day and one follow-up. (Our recommendation)

Posts as your personal profile. LinkedIn company pages are not supported yet.

Listeners who moved off X. Likes, reposts and replies come back to seenpaid.

How often: Release day plus one or two quotes. (Our recommendation)

Casual behind-the-scenes posts between episodes.

How often: Two or three a week. (Our recommendation)

The listener server: new episodes land in its announcements channel through a webhook.

How often: Every episode. (Our recommendation)

A channel for listeners who want every new episode, posted through your own bot.

How often: Every episode. (Our recommendation)

Five posts to schedule

Sample drafts. Replace anything in brackets with your own details.

  1. 1

    The release-day post

New episode: [guest] on [topic]. The part that surprised me starts at 14:20. Listen: [link]
  2. 2

    The pull quote

“[Line from the guest].” [Guest] on episode [n]. Full conversation: [link]
  3. 3

    The listener question

A listener asked: [question]. We answer it in the next episode, out Thursday.
  4. 4

    From the archive

Episode [n] with [guest] is still the one people email me about. Worth a listen if you missed it.
  5. 5

    The behind-the-scenes post

We recorded this one in a hotel wardrobe with a blanket over the mic. It sounds fine. Mostly.

How the agent runs it

  1. 01Give seenpaid the show’s site at signup; it drafts three first posts from the page.
  2. 02When an episode is edited, paste the show notes or transcript into your agent and ask for a release post, two quote posts and a reminder.
  3. 03The agent runs validate_post (X’s 280 characters is usually the limit that bites) and schedule_post lines them up for release day and the days after.
  4. 04Put older episodes on the recycle queue so the archive keeps getting posted between releases.
  5. 05If you sell a premium feed or merch through Stripe, Gumroad or Shopify, attribution shows which episode post sold it.
How the agent works

Rules to know before you post

General information with its source, not legal advice. seenpaid publishes what you write and does not check it against these rules.

Sponsor reads need a disclosure on social too

When a sponsor pays for a segment, the social posts promoting that segment need the disclosure in the post itself.

“The disclosure should be placed with the endorsement message itself.”

Tagging a sponsor

Under the 2023 update, tagging a brand in a social post can count as an endorsement, so the same disclosure rules apply.

“changing the definition of “endorsements” to clarify the extent to which it includes fake reviews, virtual influencers, and tags in social media”

Does revenue attribution apply to you?

Premium feeds, merch and courses sold through Stripe, Gumroad, Shopify or Whop can be matched to the episode post that sent the buyer. Patreon and podcast-app subscriptions are not connected sources, so those cannot be matched.

One workspace connects every channel above, so a show fits in Solo with room for more shows. Every workspace connects all the platforms above, with as many accounts as you need. Every plan has every feature; they differ only by how many workspaces (brands) you run.

Questions

Can seenpaid upload episodes to YouTube or Spotify?

No. seenpaid does not publish to YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts. Your podcast host distributes the episode; seenpaid schedules the posts that send people to it.

Does it read my download numbers?

No. Downloads live in your podcast host. seenpaid reads likes, reposts and replies back from X, Bluesky and Mastodon, and emoji reactions from Discord, not listens.

Can I post to my listener Discord?

Yes, through a webhook on the channel you choose. Emoji reactions on that message come back into seenpaid.

Do Patreon supporters count as sales?

Not today. Patreon is not a connected revenue source, so a pledge cannot be matched to a post. Stripe, Gumroad, Shopify and Whop sales can.
