Set up seenpaid in ChatGPT

ChatGPT is OpenAI’s assistant. Asked directly, ChatGPT cannot post to X, Instagram or LinkedIn — it has no credentials for your accounts, and if you ask it to tweet it will say so. What it can do is call an app built from an MCP server. seenpaid is in ChatGPT’s plugin directory (approved by OpenAI on 24 September 2026), so once you add it, ChatGPT can check captions, schedule posts and tell you what is queued.

How to connect ChatGPT to seenpaid

No key to copy — you sign in to seenpaid instead.

    Have your seenpaid account ready

    No API key needed: ChatGPT signs in to seenpaid with OAuth, and the sign-in decides which workspace it can act on. Start a trial first if you do not have an account.

    Add seenpaid to ChatGPT

    Open seenpaid in ChatGPT’s plugin directory (chatgpt.com/plugins, search “seenpaid”), add it, and sign in to your seenpaid account when ChatGPT asks. There is no key to paste.

    Restart and verify

    In a new chat, ask “Which of my social accounts are connected?”. ChatGPT calls seenpaid and lists them. It asks you to confirm write actions like scheduling before it runs them.

    Start with “Which of my social accounts are connected?” — ChatGPT calls list_accounts and names your channels. If none are connected yet, ask for a connect link: that one step needs you in a browser.

Developer mode is on the web, for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education. Turn it on in Settings → Security and login → Developer mode, go to chatgpt.com/plugins, press +, create an app with the URL https://api.seenpaid.com/mcp, choose OAuth, and sign in to seenpaid.

Troubleshooting

If it does not connect

401 Unauthorized

The request reached seenpaid but no valid credential came with it. Check the key starts with sp_, was not revoked, and is sent as “Authorization: Bearer sp_…” with the word Bearer and one space. seenpaid also answers 401 when the workspace has no active trial or plan, even with a correct key.

Wrong URL, or the server never connects

The endpoint is exactly https://api.seenpaid.com/mcp — not seenpaid.com, and not an /sse URL. seenpaid speaks Streamable HTTP only; a client set to SSE will not connect. Opening the URL in a browser shows a short explainer page, which is expected.

OAuth or API key — which one?

Config files and command-line clients send the sp_ key as a header. Connector screens in apps (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Grok) have no key field: they sign in to seenpaid with OAuth instead. Never paste your key into an OAuth client ID or secret field.

There is no place for an API key

Right — ChatGPT apps authenticate with OAuth or not at all. Choose OAuth; the seenpaid sign-in replaces the key.

ChatGPT answers from memory instead of calling seenpaid

Name the app in the request: “Use seenpaid’s schedule_post to…”. OpenAI’s own guidance for developer mode is to be explicit about the app and tool.
